He was very engaging with the crowd, and I found the overall speech to be encouraging toward people and their individual ‘gifts.’ He discussed how everyone starts out and moves through different ‘zones.’ Everyone starts out in the ‘incompetency’ zone, and through personal/professional growth & training, then moves on to new zones. Jim Bob said a quote that stood out to me the most: “What is obvious to you, is amazing to others.” I can think of a few people (myself included) who could use this reminder that we all have unique abilities that do not come easily to others.
